Eligibility Criteria

  • Current Peer Recovery credential (PR)
  • Current Advanced Peer Recovery credential (APR)
  • Currently employed as a PR or APR
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of consistent employment as a PR or APR

Application & Review Process

  1. Complete a Peer Supervision Application
  2. Submit a letter of recommendation from PRPS
  3. Submit an additional professional letter of recommendation
  4. Application reviewed (approved/denied/pending) by DHS Recovery Unit
  5. Applicant scheduled for supervisor training (UALR MidSOUTH)

Credential Requirements

  • 40 educational hours (Supervisor Training = 24 hours) 16 hours needed after Supervisor Training (9.5 hours Peer Recovery Support Series; 6.5 hours Peer Ethics)
  • 500 experience hours: 250 hours of supervised work experience and 250 hours of providing supervision. 50 of those hours must take place under the supervision of a more experienced supervisor.
  • 25 Peer Supervision hours: Supervision provided by Peer Recovery Peer Supervisor.
